Pine Ridge Reservation, United States – Indigenous rights activist and community organiser Deborah White Plume has spent more than seven weeks at the protest camp in Cannonball, North Dakota, where for the last two months thousands have gathered to fight the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL).
Energy Transfer Partners, a Texas-based corporation, is behind the pipeline, which will stretch more than 1,900km and carry oil from North Dakota to Illinois.

Great Plains Tribes Win Important Legal Fight to Protect Tribal Water and Treaty Resources
The Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Association (GPTCA), the Native American Rights Fund (NARF), and the National Congress of American Indians Fund (NCAI Fund) applaud the D.C. District Court’s decision today to vacate the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Lake Oahe easement for the Dakota Access Pipeline, and to require the removal of all oil flowing through the pipeline by August 5, 2020. This decision ensures that the treaty-reserved rights of the plaintiff tribes – the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, the Yankton Sioux Tribe, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe – are adequately addressed, along with any other land and natural resource considerations, in a full-fledged and well-documented environmental review process.
GPTCA, NARF, and NCAI Fund participated in a coalition of Native organizations submitting an amicus brief in support of the plaintiff tribes during the latest proceedings in the D.C. District Court and are encouraged by this outcome. We hope that this decision helps pave the way for full and proper environmental impact studies as well as meaningful consultation with tribal nations that have direct or indirect stewardship over the lands under review. Our organizations will continue to work to ensure that every time tribal lands and resources are at stake, the environmental review processes meet all legal standards and respect the federal government’s trust obligations to tribes set forth in federal laws.

A federal court today granted a request by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to strike down federal permits for the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline.
The Court found the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers violated the National Environmental Policy Act when it affirmed federal permits for the pipeline originally issued in 2016. Specifically, the Court found significant unresolved concerns about the potential impacts of oil spills and the likelihood that one could take place.

Die Gruppe Divest LA hat unermüdlich daran gearbeitet, den Stadtrat zu veräußern.

WIR HABEN ES GESCHAFFT!!! An diesem Morgen, Los Angeles City Council einstimmig beschlossen,
$ 40.000.000 in Bestände von Wells Fargo zu veräußern!
Der Antrag wurde von den Stadträten uneingeschränkt abgestimmt.
Als Bürger von Los Angeles sind wir stolz darauf, dass unsere Stadtratspersonen für ein besseres Bankensystem stehen, um unsere Gemeinden und unsere Bewohner gedeihen zu lassen. Vielen Dank, Ratspräsident Mitch O’Farrell, Paul Koretz und Ratspräsident Mike Bonin für die Führung und die Einführung dieser sehr entscheidenden Gesetzgebung. Die anfängliche Veräußerung von 40 Millionen US-Dollar ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Entwurzelung der finanziellen Beziehungen der Stadt mit Wells Fargo und ebnet nun den Weg für die Veräußerung der fünfundzwanzigsten Depots der Stadt mit Wells Fargo.
Ein neuer Antrag wurde geschaffen, um die Gespräche von gestern in den Empfehlungen des Haushalts- und Finanzausschusses durch den Vorsitzenden Paul Krekorian zu widerspiegeln.
Die Bewegung beauftragte das Amt für Finanzen und das Büro der Stadtanwaltskanzlei:
die Entflechtung von 800 Bankverträgen in kleinere Verträge, Empfehlungen zur Überprüfung und Bewertung von Finanzinstituten in ihrem eigenen Investitionsgesetz-Auswahlverfahren und einen Bericht des Stadtanwalts über die Beendigung des Finanzwesens Beziehungen zu Wells Fargo aufgrund des herabgestuften gemeinschaftlichen Thesaurierungsgesetzes (CRA). Es gibt auch Anweisungen, um sozial verantwortliche Bankenkriterien für eine neue Ära des bewussten Bankens zu schaffen!
Die heutigen Aktionen des Stadtrates stärkt Los Angeles als eine fortschrittliche Stadt und schafft eine neue Ära der Rechenschaftspflicht für Finanzinstitute und Unternehmen, die mit der Stadt Los Angeles Geschäfte machen.
Die Leidenschaft und Hingabe der progressiven Bewegung in Los Angeles hält eine ungeheure Macht.

Wir machen heute abend spontan eine Extra Native Prayer Ceremony, da sich heute schon vor Gericht entscheiden kann, ob die DAPL stillgelegt wird. Letzte Woche hat ein Richter schon die Rechtswidrigkeit festgestellt und eine Umweltfolgenprüfung angeordnet. Ab dem heutigen Prozesstag geht es jetzt darum, dass die Pipeline bis zum Abschluß der Umweltprüfung den Betrieb einstellen muss, was dann sehr wahrscheinlich das Aus der DAPL bedeutet.
